List Arranger Super OSAX Released --
Will Allow Developers To Solve Scripting Problems

A new super Open Scripting Architecture Extension (OSAX) called List Arranger that allows developers unprecedented levels of control over lists and arrays has been released by Pointy Bird Developments of East Doncaster, Victoria, Australia.

Pointy Bird's owner, Jan Skarbek, said in announcing the release of the commercial product, "List Arranger enhances the way developers can work with lists of data in AppleScript. List Arranger allows you to manipulate lists in ways that AppleScript doesn't allow, or in ways that are otherwise slow, cumbersome or inefficient."

A principal expected use of the List Arranger will be cross¤database data transfer with field name independency. This feature will permit updates of databases where field names, creation order, or the total number of fields has changed from one version to the next.

Skarbek noted, "Many FileMaker Pro developers and users have requested a way to deal with the 'matching field names on import' issue, and List Arranger will meet that need."

Other uses include item relocation within a list, list sorting with numerous options, and removal of duplicate list items, to name but a few.
