ANNOUNCING TWO NEW SUPPORT UTILITES
August 23, 1999
| Company: | Pervasive Software |
| Web site: | www.pervasive.com |
| Contact: | Shayne Lebrun |
Two of em.
Available on the magical FTP server
zaphod.everyware.com
for anonymous download in the pub/utils directory.
FakeBrowser and FakeServer, both win32.
FakeBrowser generates HTTP requests and displays the server response, without doing any filtering, interpreting, etc etc. VERY useful for debugging custom HTTP headers and seeing what a newfangled server is doing.
FakeServer does the opposite; it binds to a port and waits for HTTP requests, then displays the browser request, again without doing any filtering or what not. Useful for seeing just HOW nonstandard any given web browser is, noticing that all post args have the last character chopped off, etc etc.
These are still beta, so send feature requests, bug reports, etc etc my way. Me directly, not to techsupport@pervasive.com.
Otherwise, have at it.
