USE FILEMAKER SERVER TO STOP WORLDWIDE ROBOT DOMINATION
Rosemary Tietge, systems engineer with FileMaker, Inc., will present "Use FileMaker Server to Stop Worldwide Robot Domination", an updated version of her popular session from FileMaker DevCon 2011. For years, FileMaker DBAs have relied on robot computers to perform unattended scripts on a schedule. Starting with FileMaker Server 9, the server can perform almost all of these tasks as server-side scripts. Rosemary's tour schedule is:
- October 12, Houston, TX, 12:30pm
RSVP to: http://www.fmpug.com/rsvp.php?eventID=1219
- October 13, Austin, TX, 4:00pm

- October 14, Dallas, TX, 11:00am

FileMaker Server can import and export records from enterprise systems, generate reports, and automatically archive records to a data warehouse. FileMaker Go makes using server-side scripts even more important; these scripts can, for example, queue processes that cannot be performed in FileMaker Go, and update and store calculation results to improve performance on less powerful clients.
Rosemary will explore best practices for server-side scripting and the most useful script models. She will discuss subtle differences in some script steps when run on server, how to avoid scripting pitfalls, and how to best manage your server resources during peak times.
Rosemary is a FileMaker 11 Certified Developer and a FileMaker Authorized Trainer. She works with the sales team in the South and Mid-Atlantic regions communicating the virtues of FileMaker and providing technical guidance to customers. She joined the FileMaker team in January 2006 after eight years as Publishing Technology Manager at Harvard University Press. She has presented at FileMaker DevCon, Macworld, and publishing industry conferences.
CREATING PIVOT TABLES WITHOUT EXCEL
Kevin Vile, project manager for Cleveland Consulting, will present "Creating Pivot Tables Without Excel". CC Pivot is a new reporting tool to display data from FileMaker Pro in rows and columns, like a standard pivot table. Kevin will demonstrate the free and full versions of CC Pivot and discuss how to integrate it with an existing FileMaker solution in only 3 easy steps. Cleveland Consulting is a Platinum Member of the FileMaker Business Alliance in central Ohio. Kevin's tour schedule is:
- November 2, Houston, TX, 12:30pm
- November 3, Austin, TX, 4:00pm
- November 4, Dallas, TX, 11:00am

He is also the creator of FMSearchResults, a Google-style search tool for performing rapid multi-tables queries in FileMaker Pro. Matt will share the latest discoveries from his high-end development with customers in Portland. Matt's tour schedule is:
