In his new role Head will be responsible for providing technical expertise to support sales in FileMaker's business, consumer and education markets, primarily in Australia and New Zealand but also covering South East Asia.
As a consultant developer with more than 20 years experience, Head brings a wealth of FileMaker knowledge to the job. Prior to accepting this position he worked with a variety of clients and businesses in the education, medical, legal and retail industries, helping them design, implement and deploy FileMaker database solutions.
Head will be responsible for developing and delivering compelling technical presentations and product demonstrations to FileMaker clients and FBA/TechNet members. He will also provide guidance on design, development, and deployment requirements for FileMaker solutions.
“David has a rare combination of technical skills, practical FileMaker database knowledge and communication skills. He has highly developed technical database knowledge blended with excellent presentation and communication skills, honed through many years of delivering classroom instruction, and product demonstrations,” commented FileMaker’s APAC Regional Manager, Steve McManus.
He continued; “David is a welcomed addition to FileMaker’s Asia Pacific team and I have every confidence that in his capacity as System Engineer he will add significant momentum to the Sydney based operations. David is highly respected by his peers within the FileMaker database developer community. In 2008, he delivered a workshop at FileMaker’s worldwide Developer Conference and he has been selected to present two sessions at this year’s FileMaker Developer Conference (DevCon) in San Diego, California.”
“I am very excited about being able to use my depth of technical knowledge, training experience and passion for FileMaker in an official capacity. I see this role as an opportunity to be directly involved with the success of FileMaker in the Asia Pacific region after years of working with FileMaker building database solutions, and training FileMaker users and developers,” said David Head.
During his long career in the IT industry, Head has held a wide variety of roles including Head of Computing and Business at St John’s College Darwin, AppleCentre Darwin’s Training Operations Manager and Director of IT consulting and Apple Sales at iTech Group (Australia).
