The new name also reflects upon both the history and future of WinSoft International, as the company enters into a new phase of business development. With more than 95% of turnover coming from international sales, WinSoft International has always had an international perspective. Recent business developments, like the opening of an office in the Middle East, only serve to reinforce WinSoft International's connection with its customers, both geographic and communicative.
By becoming WinSoft International, we are realigning the company name with its everyday reality, said Kamel H. Gaddas, WinSoft International co-founder and CEO. What s more, the corporate logo change with its redesigned W illustrates even further the rapprochement between cultures that we've set as a company value and keep in mind for our everyday actions.
At the same time that WinSoft International is formalizing its global perspective, it is also emphasizing the rapprochement between cultures with the WinSoft Arabic Typography Contest, based on the UNESCO theme for 2010 of rapprochement between cultures.
Graphic designers, calligraphers and artists, were invited to illustrate using Arabic typography and graphic design their vision of a world where a dialogue between cultures is both natural and enriching. More than 30 contestants from 13 different countries submitted their work to be judged by a panel of 5 jury members composed of: Aref Hijjawi, Director of Programmes at Al Jazeera; Joe Karkour, Adobe Regional Business Development Manager; Nadine Chahine, noted type designer for LinoType; George Kandalaft, noted web designer and journalist and Zaid Al-Hilali, Adobe Certified Expert and Instructor at Grapheast.
