This is not a misprint! Seventy thousand U.S. cents--Seven hundred (that's Hundred with an "H") dollars--will be made available as part of an ergonomic stimulus totaling US$1000.00 in cash and in-kind assistance, available to FileMaker developers in the coming month. Often these days the numbers bandied about are so enormous that it is hard to wrap your head around them, or put them into context. Let's put it this way:
If all the pennies in this stimulus package were laid end to end, they would form a VERY LONG LINE of pennies.
While the details are still being worked out, here's what is known so far about the stimulus package. SmallCo.net, a FileMaker development house considered by most to be "too small to fail," will dedicate this month's petty cash account to fostering ergonomic investment in the FileMaker community. The money will be distributed to the top three entrants in a design contest. The Big Three will be asked to show how they propose to use the funds, as well as the features of FileMaker Pro 10, to advance user efficiency in groundbreaking new ways, and promote software sales to specific clients.
All of the Big Three will have their work featured in a special edition of the FileMaker Design Caucus, hosted by SmallCo, at a date to be announced. See previous caucuses at:

Each prize winner will receive a US$100.00 discount on tuition for SmallCo's Design Master Class, as well as the following monetary stimulus awards:
1st Prize: US$400.00
2nd Prize: US$200.00
3rd Prize: US$100.00
Along with the tuition credits, the total value of this stimulus package is US$1,000.00. All recipients must commit NOT to use funds for executive compensation increases for current management. And all entries MUST incorporate new design approaches based upon FileMaker Pro 10. Entries are not limited to the U.S.
Please stay tuned to your local FileMaker news source for more information.
