2007 Cube Award Winners Announced
Software company Sohnar has won the "Business Driver of the Year in Europe" award at the latest FileMaker Developer Conference, held from July 13th – 17th at The JW Marriot Desert Ridge Resort in Pheonix, Arizona. Sohnar was one of the three developers from across the globe to be acknowledged for its sales achievements, picked from a choice of over 1200 FileMaker Business Alliance members.
Sohnar was recognised for selling the highest number of FileMaker licenses in its region, something that has come as a result of constant improvements made by Sohnar in the past 12 months and which chairman Jeremy Rudge has worked hard to achieve.
This is not the first time that the great work done at Sohnar has been recognised this year; in April Sohnar won a Queens Award for Enterprise, one of the most prestigious honours than can be bestowed on any business.
Sohnar's product, "Traffic", was launched in London just five years ago. Since then, it has risen to become a multi-million pound international business with customers in nine countries and offices in London, Sydney and New York.
Users of Traffic typically work in graphic design, web design, multimedia, digital, advertising, design for print, interior design, package design, product design, PR, marketing and branding and is used by more than 4,000 creatives around the world.
Tracey Shirtcliff commented, "Winning the award was a surprise but a very happy one – we're delighted! This is our second award in just a few months, which is quite an achievement. This award is further proof of the great effort being put in by everyone and just shows we are doing things right."
Other winners
Other successful FileMaker developers to be recognised at this years FileMaker Developer Conference included DataTherapy and Cordis. DataTherapy, this year's winner of the Mad Dog PR award for its continued efforts in strengthening the presence of FileMaker through targeted PR work were rewarded at this year's developer conference as one of the seven winners of this global PR award.
UK company Cordis too was recognised for its achievements in winning The Business Award and The Winner of Winners award at FileMaker's Annual Cube Awards earlier this year for its print procurement solution, 'PrintTiger'.
At the event
The event was host to over 1,200 FileMaker developers from across the world that were all able to network with like-minded individuals and attend a choice of more than 80 sessions and workshops.
Sessions included:
* Best practices for FileMaker Pro and FileMaker Server environments
* FileMaker Training series workshop
* Sessions on harnessing external SQL data sources
* FileMaker & PHP: Building iPhone and Web 2.0 applications
Tony Speakman, Regional manager for FileMaker in Northern Europe commented, "There was a real buzz about the conference and I was constantly seeing smiling faces and meeting people that had been developers for years but still picked up some handy hints and tips to take home. We were particularly proud to have Sohnar, DataTherapy and Cordis all recognised at the conference, a real achievement and testimony to some of the great work and talent that we have in the UK."
