Fort Worth, TX, June 30, 2008 -- Comm-Unity Networking Systems releases the fifth public beta of its upcoming FTPit Pro plug-in for FileMaker Pro(R).  This is a complete rewrite of the Classic FileMaker 6 FTPit plug-in for FileMaker Pro 7 and above.  With this plug-in you can transfer files to and from your computer using the File Transfer Protocol (FTP) all from within FileMaker Pro.  Beta 5 brings a few bug fixes to the core plug-in as well as a brand new Server Edition of the plug-in.  The Server Edition of FTPit Pro can be used with Scheduled Scripts on FileMaker Server and/or with Web Publishing on FileMaker Server Advanced.  This beta is available immediately at http://labs.cnsplug-ins.com/ for both Mac OS(R) X and Windows.

Description

FTPit Pro is a FileMaker Pro 7+ plug-in that uses FTP to transfer files to and from your computer.  It is compatible with Mac OS X 10.3.9+ and any version of Windows that FileMaker Pro 7+ runs on.  Use it to upload static web pages to a website, download database upgrades from a centralized server, or write a complete FTP client within FileMaker Pro itself.  You can transfer text directly to or from fields in your database, and you can upload files that reside in container fields.  The new Server Edition of FTPit Pro allows you to install and use the plug-in with FileMaker Server and Server Advanced.  With the Server Edition, you can now do things like transfer database backups to an offsite server directly from the FileMaker Server machine or use the plug-in with an Instant Web Publishing database you've developed.  Download a copy today to explore the many features of this plug-in.

What's New

- Fixed a typo-bug in UploadFile which was causing the wrong file to be uploaded from containers if more than one container had the same embedded file name for differing files.
- Fixed an issue where the plug-in wasn't accepting FileMaker Pro formatted paths (paths that have file:/, imagemac:/, etc at the beginning).
- Implemented FileMaker Server support, creating an entirely new "Server Edition" of the plug-in.  See the ReadMe in the Server Edition download for more information.

Pricing and Availability

The beta version is available immediately at http://labs.cnsplug-ins.com/ for both Mac OS X and Windows.  During the beta period, there is a special beta code available on the labs website to get a beta license key for the client version of the plug-in.

A 1-User License for the client version of FTPit Pro is $65.  To use the Server Edition of FTPit Pro, you will need to purchase at least a 10-User License.  A 10-User License is $319.  There are several other price points on the purchase page for the plug-in.
