The FileMaker Pro SDK features a FileMaker Lookup solution, which allows users to perform on-demand lookup of information stored in FileMaker Pro using AppleScript and MetaScript, a MetaCommunications scripting language based on JavaScript. This ensures that specific information associated with a job in FileMaker is attached to the same job in Digital Storage Manager and is automatically propagated to all related files and subfolders.

Job and customer information changes frequently through the life of a job. To keep up with dynamic changes, the SDK also includes the FileMaker Bridge application, which automatically keeps Digital Storage Manager in-sync with the changing information in FileMaker Pro.
