We’re seeking an IT Director to be based in our Chicago office to help manage a complex database, and develop solutions that streamline work for us and for our clients. The ideal candidate has a history of successful database design and implementation, and experience with accounting systems.
This is a new position, taking over a number of responsibilities that have been handled by the President and a group of outside developers.
General Duties & Responsibilities:
Database Management – The work is roughly 85% database design, development, testing and deployment, and managing development work by additional programmers. The IT Director will also monitor our systems to ensure excellent database integrity, security and backup procedures.
General IT Management – The IT Director will work with the IT Manager of our New York office who is responsible for desktop support, network administration, email administration and telecommunications support for both offices and for remote employees.
Management Team – The IT Director is part of the senior management team responsible for the day-to-day operations and long-term growth of the company. The IT Director must be able to effectively communicate with management, staff and clients, and have a teamwork attitude as well as strong independent decision-making skills.
Requirements:
Useful skills include:
• Excellent Relational database design
• Experience with FileMaker, Flex, PHP and/or SQL
• Citrix – multi-user/multi-office LAN/WAN environments
• Experience in payroll and/or accounting a big plus.
