Who we're looking for:
We're looking for an individual who is as passionate about delivering innovative FileMaker based database solutions as we are. We are seeking to hire a full time, salaried database developer who can design, develop and maintain FileMaker Pro databases on the Windows and Macintosh platforms. Though you'll spend a lot of time in our office in front of your computer working out data models, analyzing requirements and 'clicking and dragging' you'll also be meeting with our clients directly... Analyzing their needs, communicating and demonstrating the design they require and ultimately deploying and supporting our work.
We recognize that learning and honing skills are what keep us competitive and in a position to work with our respectable client base.
To meet the requirements for employment you must be disciplined enough to telecommute and be willing to occasionally travel to our office in Upstate NY for meetings, etc. We are not offering compensation for relocation expenses. The position would require some travel to client sites in NY State (including NYC), NJ & CT.
Requirements:
- Three years or more of experience developing databases in FileMaker versions 6.x through 8.5
- FileMaker Certification a plus
- Comfortable developing and deploying large multi-user solutions
- Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Experience working in a professional atmosphere
- Good communication and listening skills
Qualifications:
- Comprehensive understanding and familiarity with FileMaker versions 6 through 8 (Pro, Developer, Advanced and Server)
- Comfortable on both Windows and Macintosh platforms
- Ability to interface with our client base in a professional and courteous manner
- Familiarity with SQL and database modeling concepts
- Familiarity with web scripting language a plus (especially PHP) as well as other technologies (xDBC, XML/XSLT)
- Experience with Windows Server products a plus
- Excellent professional references
