SENIOR MANAGEMENT PROCESS SPECIALIST
This is a Non-Merit position. Starting salary is commensurate with experience. This position is in a pay grade 16.
Qualifications
This position requires considerable knowledge in the field of Database Information Systems and the ability to apply these skills in a governmental setting. Must be able to plan, build and maintain complex databases for internal and external customers on the Windows platform. In addition, the successful candidate should have the ability to link the division’s databases into the state’s SQL network. The successful candidate should also have: the ability to integrate database design and business and accounting processes in a governmental grant management environment; strong technical skills using FileMaker Pro and Pro Server; interface design skills; relational database design and structural design skills, and troubleshooting and analysis skills. Must have the ability to meet and communicate effectively with internal and external customers to analyze needs and translate those needs into both conceptual database designs and programming language and, finally, to provide internal and external customers instructions on both business processes and effective database usage.
Training and Experience
A Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business or Information Systems, is required. FileMaker 7 and/or 8 Certification is desirable. Also, custom web publishing experience using FileMaker or other software and three (3) to five (5) years experience building FileMaker based software applications is desirable. Governmental accounting experience is a plus. Relevant training and/or experience may be substituted for education requirement on a year for year basis if deemed appropriate.
Position Responsibilities
Under general supervision, the person in this position develops, manages, integrates and operates the Community Development and Finance Division’s (CDFD) financial management software and information systems in concert with the Division’s business processes and accounting systems. The position involves developing and working with databases running on Windows Servers for access by Windows clients over a Local Area Network (LAN).
