This position would be responsible for the development and completion of our existing internal FileMaker 8.0 database solution. (24 modules) You would work with a team of database programmers to develop an end-to-end (requirements, development, testing, implementation, and production support) solution for our organization and report to the Database Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
• Coding and maintenance of scripts in FileMaker Pro 8.0
• Design logical and physical databases as part of a project team, applying knowledge of database design standards and database management systems
• Review project requests describing database user needs. Estimates time and cost required to accomplish project.
• Attend specification meetings with project team to determine scope and limitations of project.
• Review workflow charts developed by the project team to understand tasks a computer will perform, such as updating records.
• Review procedures in database management system manuals for making changes to the data base, such as creating, revising, and controlling database records
• Develops data models describing data elements and how they are used
• Creates descriptions to enable Database Manager to understand how programs should access data. May specialize in adding, deleting, and modifying data items in database
• Reviews, evaluates, designs, implements and maintains company database(s). Identifies data sources, constructs data decomposition diagrams, provides data flow diagrams and documents the process.
A successful candidate must be able to troubleshoot complex systems; diagnose and resolve complex database issues; recommend and/or develop corrective scripts and database fixes; support legacy development, testing, and production code bases; analyze and implement database change requests and enhancements; actively participate in meetings as an advocate for the database team.

REQUIREMENTS
• Interpersonal, analytical, technical judgment, problem solving and verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent knowledge of and experience in FileMaker Server 8.0, Microsoft SQL Server 2000, including stored procedures, utilizing VBScript, SQL Agent scheduling, query plans and other analytical tools.
• Knowledge of program logic and data flow.
• Familiarity with ASP , ASP.NET, C#, CMS, XML, and web-side JavaScript a plus
• Understanding and experience with logical metadata and association with physical data schemas.
• Ability to immediately adapt to changing requirements and conditions.
• Ability to work in a distributed team environment.
• Ability to interact positively and effectively with employees at all levels within the organization.
• Ability to work in fast paced environment essential.
EDUCATION OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE:
BS degree in Computer Science and 1-3 years experience in FileMaker 8.0 Development. Experience in SQL Server operations and support is a plus.
