Entry Level FileMaker Pro Developer in Northern Illinois

GFX International, a fast-paced, growing, multi-platform far-north Illinois Retail Graphics Company looking to add a Full-Time FileMaker Developer. Databases are in the slow process of transitioning from FileMaker to SQL. The ideal candidate will need to adapt and learn quickly. The position will involve wearing several hats!
Primary Responsibilities will include:
• Supporting / Maintaining 800+ existing FileMaker Pro databases on 7 PC Servers
• FileMaker Scripting
• Creating custom layouts for certain applications
• Perform extensive imports and exports
• Re-Development of existing databases
• Identifying ways to consolidate or improve on the efficiency of our existing database workflows
• Providing support to other Developers in new development
• Providing support to Helpdesk in various database helpdesk activities
• Working with IT Director & various sponsors to define requirements, specifications and processes
• Staying current with technology and recommending improvements where needed
Must Have Requirements:
• Self-managed, self-motivated and have proven organizational abilities
• Excellent oral & written communication skills
• Well-Organized, Detail-Oriented with the ability to work as a Team and Independently
• Ability earn quickly and carry out tasks on your own after only being shown once
• 3 to 5+ Years total work experience
• 1+ year developing FileMaker Pro databases in a cross-platform Mac/PC environment
• 1+ year working with FileMaker Server
• 1+ year performing Imports / Exports / Mail Merges / Running Reports
• Experience with relational databases
• Knowledge of the latest technology and strategies
• MCSD and/or MCAD is highly desirable – this IS an entry-level position
• Excellent time management skills
• Customer Friendly
It is a big plus if you have experience with the below:
• HTML & PHP experience
• Web development & networking experience
• Mac OSX & Windows XP experience
• Graphics, Printing, or Manufacturing Industry
• Experience in either a Customer Service (internal or external) or Training role
• Experience Shipping, Receiving, Inventorying.
